There's a reason your TechDisc simulator might not always reflect your real-world distance prowess. Here are two common culprits:
1. Short Net, Lower Launch Angle:
Using a net shorter than 10 feet can limit your release angle. Imagine throwing into a low ceiling – you naturally adjust your throw, resulting in a lower launch angle and potentially shorter distance.
Even with a shorter net, the simulator still offers valuable insights. Analyze other data points like speed, spin, and nose angle to gauge how much your distance might improve on the course.
2. Simulated Disc Doesn't Match Your Real-World Disc:
The default simulated disc might not accurately represent your go-to distance driver. Try adjusting the simulated disc’s flight numbers:
To make the disc slightly more understable for a straighter flight path, increase the Turn.
If your real-world disc has a higher speed rating, increase the simulated disc's Speed.
Adjusting Flight Numbers for Individual Throws:
Go to your TechDisc table.
Find your throw and click on the the Throw Type link to open a new window for that specific throw.
Click the simulator icon to see the simulation.
Adjust the disc's flight numbers as needed.
Note: adjust any of the 6 metrics to see affected changes in the flight path
Remember, the simulator is a tool, not a perfect replica of reality. By understanding these limitations and making adjustments, you can still utilize the simulator to analyze your throws and improve your disc golf game.
