Automatic Video Capture: How It Works

Modified on Thu, 26 Sep at 5:53 PM

Automatic Video Capture is designed to make capturing and analyzing form video as easy as throwing your TechDisc.

To access video functionality, you'll need an active subscription to TechDisc Premium.

How to Capture Video

  1. Open the TechDisc app: On your iPhone or iPad, tap the TechDisc app, then connect to your TechDisc.
  2. Navigate to the Video tab: Once the app is open, tap or swipe over to the Video tab.
  3. Frame your shot: Position your device to capture the desired view of your throw. Consider using a tripod to stabilize your device. Once you see "READY," the app is capturing video.
  4. Throw your TechDisc: Throw your TechDisc as you normally would.
  5. Automatic video capture: TechDisc will automatically save a 6-second video clip of each throw along with the throw metrics.
  6. Video Processing: Please wait while slow-motion is applied and the video is finalized.
  7. Video Uploaded: Videos are stored on your TechDisc account alongside the throw. A blue bar at the bottom of the thumbnail indicates upload status.
  8. Check Video Status: If you see "IDLE" then video is not being recorded. The TechDisc may be disconnected.

Where does the video go?

  1. Cloud storage: Your videos are automatically saved to the cloud for easy access at any time on the iOS app or web app at techdisc.com.
  2. TechDisc Dashboard: View your newly saved videos directly on your TechDisc Dashboard.

How can I review video later?

  1. Individual throw selection: To view the video for a specific throw, locate the throw in the table. Throws with associated videos will have this icon next to the throw type:

  2.  Navigate to the Throws tab: For more efficient searching, you can filter or sort the Throws tab to quickly find earlier throws.
