Troubleshooting Video Capture on Android

Modified on Thu, 22 Jan at 9:56 AM

On some devices, requesting a specific frame rate for video recording may result in unexpected behavior. In most cases, if the device cannot provide the requested frame rate it will default to one. However, this might cause the camera feed to cut out or show a black screen.

If recording with 30fps does not solve this issue, the following set of actions should return Automatic Video Capture to a functional state:

  1. Ensure you have selected a frame rate of 30fps in the settings menu on the Video tab.
  2. Exit the TechDisc app and reset system camera settings (Camera App -> Settings -> Reset Camera Settings)
  3. Force quit the TechDisc app (swipe up from multitasking view or Force Stop in TechDisc App Info)
  4. Relaunch the TechDisc app and ensure the camera feed is working on the Video tab

Send us an email to help@techdisc.com if issues continue.
