TechDisc Battery

Modified on Tue, 28 May at 8:53 AM

TechDisc is powered by an internal, rechargeable battery. The battery is charged using a USB-C port, which is located on the side of the sensor.

To charge the battery, simply connect the sensor to a USB-C power source using a USB-C cable. It will take approximately 2 hours to charge from fully depleted to fully charged. Once charged, the battery will last for approximately 4 hours depending on usage.

TechDisc battery life is best measured in total usage time, not by a percentage indicator. You may see the battery percentage drop quickly to around 50%, but it should remain within the 30-50% range for several hours of use. If you are consistently getting less than 2-3 hours of battery life out of a full charge, then there may be an issue with your TechDisc and you should contact customer support.

TechDisc will enter a sleep mode when it does not detect motion for more than 60 seconds to save battery. It will wake up within 1 second when it detects motion again.

Here are some tips for extending the life of your TechDisc sensor battery:

  • Avoid leaving the sensor in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
  • Do not overcharge the battery.
  • When not in use, store the sensor in a cool, dry place.
