Impact of Multiple Bluetooth Devices on Upload Speed

Modified on Wed, 11 Dec at 8:02 AM

For the best upload experience while using your TechDisc, especially for throws, we recommend minimizing the number of Bluetooth devices connected to your phone or tablet.

Here's why: Multiple Bluetooth connections can compete for bandwidth, potentially slowing down TechDisc's ability to upload data.

Imagine Bluetooth bandwidth as a highway. Each connected device takes up a lane. While some devices, like headphones, might use a single lane without much impact, others, like Xbox controllers, are known to occupy more lanes, leading to traffic jams for TechDisc's data upload.

Here's a breakdown of how different devices might affect upload speed:

  • Headphones/Speakers: Some headphones and speakers may work without significantly impacting upload speed, but results may vary.

  • Xbox Controllers: Xbox controllers are known to consume more Bluetooth bandwidth and can significantly slow down TechDisc upload speeds.

  • Bluetooth Mouse: Using a Bluetooth mouse might cause a slight slowdown in upload speed.

Tips for Faster Uploads

Disconnect any unnecessary Bluetooth devices from your phone or tablet before using your TechDisc. If you frequently use multiple Bluetooth devices, consider using a device with Bluetooth 5, or newer, for faster transfer speeds.

Upgrading to a Bluetooth 5 USB dongle for your laptop can also improve upload performance.
